The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc, 100% estate grown from our vineyards in Calistoga, was harvested on August 17th and aged 7 months in 25% Burgundian French Oak and 75% Neutral French Oak. It was a remarkable growing season with close to perfect weather conditions. Solid rains late into the spring and modestly warm temperatures afforded most winemakers the luxury of picking at the optimum time. We adjusted the canopy in our vineyard to ensure the berries were sun-kissed, but protected from full exposure. This farming technique allowed us to keep developing sugars in check providing us with full flavored fruit and strong varietal character, while preserving the crisp acidity on the palate. This wine reveals beautiful tropical aromas and fresh grapefruit on the nose, while being supported by the nicely weighted, fresh-cream middle palate and an extensive stone fruit . 150 cases produced.
