2008 Pinot Noir

“Amor Vincit Omnia” - Ancient Roman Love Verse

Indeed, “Love Conquers All”….. In tough times, we can fall back on love to get us through the challenging moments in life. Another option?... A killer bottle of Pinot Noir is guaranteed to sooth the nerves and pamper the soul – or simply to celebrate the transition from spring to summer.

We hereby present to you the annual offering of our Coup De Foudre 2008 Pinot Noir (Sta. Rita Hills). Allocations of this wine will be strictly limited to one six-pack per customer and assigned on a first-in basis. They will ship to you this Fall, 2010 in wood boxes. The price per bottle is $95 ($570/pack), plus applicable sales tax. Fedex (2-day) charges will apply ($55/pack). As always, Coup De Foudre wines feature peel-off labels—“detacher ici”—with room to record the special occasion that warranted their extraction from your precious cellars! Sadly, given the very low yields, we are unable to offer any large bottle formats of this wine.

We harvested our Rio Vista Vineyard 2008 Pinot Noir on September 30. Yields were very low (1.5 ton/acre) due to an unusually late frost occurrence in May and a large heat spike in mid June during bloom. Our vines (65% clone 667 and 35% clone 2A) were hand harvested, then cluster-sorted and de-stemmed into small fermenting bins. The wine (14.4% alc) was aged 16 months in a combination of 65% new and 35% one-year French coopers (Rousseau Betranges, Billion Forrest Allier and Tonnellerie Sirugue). It was given a very light filtration prior to bottling.

This wine is SOLD OUT.
