2006 37.2 Cuvee
Last week, I came home to find my daughter painstakingly punching out a story about rabbits -- her current
passion in life – for blind first and second graders on a borrowed Braille typewriter. I asked her if it was
difficult to describe rabbits to young readers who could not visualize them. Her response was, “Daddy, when you love something so much, anything is easy!”
Well, we love what we do at Coup De Foudre Winery, and even if it isn’t always easy, we are delighted to
offer you our third vintage release — the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2006 Cuvee 37.2. Once again, our Stag’s leap Cabernet Sauvignon was
blended with a small percentage of Syrah
from Heidi Barrett’s Santa Ynez vineyard,
then aged 18 months in a combination
of Tarransaud, Radoux and amba
cooperage. Our Cuvee 37.2, produced in
the Pomerol style, is a blend of 94% Merlot
and 6% Cabernet Franc. Production levels
for our 2006 vintage remained at 500
cases and 300 cases, respectively. We
anticipate that allocations will be snapped
up as briskly as the 2005 vintage, so we
encourage you to secure yours as soon as
possible. Any unclaimed allocations
will be released to our waitlist customers on
July 31, 2008. We will ship the 2006 wines
in August/September, weather permitting.
